Hey everyone
Quick question for the ReminderBridge community!
Some users have mentioned that when their laptop goes to sleep (like when the lid is closed or it’s in deep sleep), ReminderBridge stops syncing — which makes sense based on how macOS works. But I know that can be annoying if you’re relying on it to stay updated in real time.
There Are Already Some Great Tools Out There
I know a lot of folks already use tools like:
- Amphetamine – Really cool, especially since you can keep your Mac awake based on whether a specific app is running.
- Caffeine–Simple and just works.
- The macOS built-in
caffeinate
command–Great if you’re comfy with Terminal.
Here’s What I’m Thinking
I’m toying with the idea of baking a “Keep Awake” or “Caffeinate” toggle right into ReminderBridge itself — so you wouldn’t have to set anything up separately. Just a simple option to keep your Mac awake while ReminderBridge is syncing.
The main benefit would just be convenience — one less thing to install or manage.
So, what do you think?
- Would this be useful to you?
- Or are you happy using Amphetamine/Caffeine/etc.?
- Is this something you’d want ReminderBridge to handle?
Appreciate any thoughts or feedback before I go down this rabbit hole
Thanks!
