[ReminderBridge] V1.4.0 Up Next

I have been looking to see if there were any bugs that needed to be squashed before adding additional features. There are so many things I believe can be done at this point and I am trying not to “scope creep” myself. But here are a few things I feel can make it to the next release:

  • List creation from Apple Reminders
  • More metadata. If you are looking for something particular please let me know. The challenge I am facing is that both APIs have their limits.
  • 2025-09-20 After updating to Tahoe, I have noticed the notifications have increased. I will be working on a fix for this too.

Hey there Andre, would love to hear more about your project and the way you tackled this issue.
Took a wild swing and got the app based off a reddit post with no comments - I’m pretty pleased it works at all, and the next steps you listed here sound good. I looked at it as if I was investing in a Beta and now that I discovered the forum I’m sure it will get even better.

Obviously having date \ time port over would be very nice.

Biggest bug I’m facing currently after 20 minutes of testing is getting a Double task on G-Task (when creating a task in iOS Reminders → and then manually syncing Reminder Bridge). Sometimes it works right - but most tests ended up in a duplicate task (not a huge deal for now I just delete it, but would be nice obviously if worked exactly as intended).

EDIT: Maybe is a bit of a big deal, because when I delete the duplicate (that shows up in GTask) I notice it also deletes the single task in iOS Reminder… Hmmm.

Another bug - getting an unclear error: “Delete this list in Apple Reminders before It can be synced again.” - I tried deleting, I tried re-adding with the same name. The error is stuck and unclear how to get rid of it (on MacBook M1).

If you iron out the small bugs and get the list creation from Apple Reminders working chefs kiss..

I think it has huge potential and solves a pretty !@#$-ed up problem in a pretty clean way. I tried doing this myself (coding / finding a solution) and it’s clear it’s a difficult issue and takes time.

Side note:

I would be interested in working on some marketing videos demonstrating the App,
I’d be interested in helping with the UI as well it looks like “Oh shit I shouldn’t have bought this” when first opened (jk but it could be more user friendly and welcoming)…

Hope to hear back from you and possibly work together - I will wait until the bugs are ironed out to give it 5 Stars in the App Store, I think it will take off.

Overall - pleased and looking forward to supporting this thing.

Hey Jonathan – really appreciate the thoughtful feedback and support. Glad you took the “wild swing” and found some value already!

I’m planning a blog post on how I approached the problem. The short version: years ago I built an enterprise project with lots of deep integrations, and that experience stuck with me. Later, using BlueBubbles showed me what’s possible when you bridge ecosystems cleanly. That was a big inspiration.

The duplicate issue when syncing from iOS → manual sync is definitely something I’ll investigate more closely. I’ve seen similar behavior in testing, but it usually happens when I’m syncing constantly (like every 15–30 seconds) and creating edge cases. iCloud sync can be slow to reconcile changes, which sometimes causes the app to think a task is missing when it’s not. Then it re-creates it.

The “Delete this list…” error shows up when you uncheck a list from sync. I intentionally leave list deletion up to the user because iCloud can sometimes recreate lists, and I try to avoid race conditions. Once the background cleanup finishes, the next sync should clear the error. If it doesn’t, let me know. I believe once list creation from the Apple side is implemented, these issues will be resolved.

I’m working on some screencasts and would love to hear more about your marketing/video/UI ideas. That first impression line made me laugh (fair!) — I’ve been focused more on functionality than polish, but I’m definitely open to collaborating or getting feedback on the UI (especially as I get closer to adding more endpoints).

Thanks again — feedback like this is how ReminderBridge gets better.

Thanks for the detailed reply Andre!

For now the app’s running very well the past few days – a few small quirks we mentioned here and there, works best when left to do its thing. If I notice anything else weird, I’ll be sure to let you know. (I had one instance where the same Google Task Folder duplicated itself in Reminders iOS and started sending the new GTask reminders to the duplicate folder - I deleted the old one that stopped syncing and its been stable since then)

Excited to read the blog post when it’s out! I’ve been getting into coding more now that AI can handle the parts I suck at - so it’ll be cool to see how you approached everything and the thought process etc… Glad to know you enjoyed my honest first impression lol!

About the videos – I was thinking of a simple, clean reel for organic social/ads. Something that shows the problem (reminders stuck in separate ecosystems) and how Reminder Bridge fixes it seamlessly. Nice voiceover, clean screen recordings of the app in action – make it look nice and flowy. Probably best to wait until the next update rolls out with the reverse reminders to google tasks sync.

For the UI - I could find a free moment and try to make a quick mockup that stays true to the minimalism but inspires a bit more confidence haha!

I mixed up my email - it was super early in the morning.

Correct one is - audiov04@gmail.com (my business / project email) -
Send a message and we can talk more if you’re interested!

Glad you appreciate the feedback - this thing solved a serious problem for me without some BS subscription I’m glad to support!

I just started using Reminder Bridge and it is pretty hopeful for me for my future use. I don’t want to use Google Tasks as I am primarily in the Apple Ecosystem with the wife, friends, etc and managing tasks on Google isn’t what I want to do, but now getting into n8n and want to start tying workflows into reminders. This is the only way I think it could be done that I have seen so far, so let us know if you need feedback and other future plans for us to try out.

Thanks for the kind words—and welcome to the community! n8n is a fantastic tool to integrate with. One of Google’s secret powers is how well it works as a bridge between systems, so you’re definitely onto something. Most of my devices are Apple too, aside from my phone. I’ll be sharing future plans as they roll out—my goal is to make this tool as powerful and seamless as possible. Feedback is always welcome!

When you say more Metadata, are you referring to Tags in Apple Reminders? If so, this would be awesome!

I was planning on working with an n8n workflow and AI agent to help me with tasks that need to get done. The ultimate goal is to put a time on each task #15min #45min #90min #intense (over 90 minutes) and then ultimately have the AI read that and see my calendar and put things on my calendar that match the available time. Additionally, I will want to have a daily process that the AI takes my non tagged tasks and asks for feedback on time to complete. It looks like Google Tasks doesn’t handle task tagging like Apple Reminders does and to make things easy, Reminder Bridge is helping sync to Google which then n8n has a much easier time reading, writing and completing tasks for me.

I like that. I will make sure to get something in 1.4.0 to give you that flexibility.

Cheers,
Andre

A couple of the new features have already been added and it feels good to be back writing code! Stay tuned!!!

I’m still actively using the app, but looking forward to the additional metadata in 1.4. Any thoughts on an ETA for that release?

Weeks (I’m feeling two) not months. I’m trying to clean up a couple of rough edges and the publish to TestFlight.

I hope the community helps me to identify any bugs and that it is an awesome release!

I’ve been using the app for a few hours and I’m already thrilled. I’ve been a heavy user of Apple reminders in my day to day life. I appreciate the ability to add metadata, reminders for locations, getting in/out of my car with CarPlay, etc. I don’t need all of the location features in google because those things use my iPhone’s location. I use Apple shortcuts to add reminders by voice or NFC tags for invoicing and restocking my vehicle throughout the work week, complete with automatic tags and main/subtasks. I also have NFC tags at home that enable me to quickly add common household supplies and groceries to Apple reminders. These lists are shared so that family members can collaborate. It would be amazing if even the main tasks from Apple reminders would transfer to google tasks, and could be marked as complete on either platform. Tags would be an added bonus if they could appear in details somewhere on google. I’m starting to play around with automations through Apple and Home Assistant (via google tasks) that mark household tasks as complete. I also use Reclaim’s AI calendar software, which automatically adds items from one list in Google tasks to free space on my Google calendar. I had previously been stuck with one set of tasks that I wanted to show up on my calendar, and another set in Apple Reminders for all of the extra features. ReminderBridge will be a great way to integrate some of these features.

Welcome to the community! I’m glad you are finding use out of ReminderBridge. List creation from Apple will be in the next release (I am currently hammering out a few bugs). Stay tuned.

Any update on this roadmap? Really need syncing from Reminders->Tasks and the time/date for the “due” metadata to sync for this to truly be useful.

Great start, but need to bring it home!

I will have 1.4.0 out in the next two weeks. Tahoe has introduced “two” bugs that I am trying to work out. I am going to knock out the low hanging fruit first and continue to gather feedback on additional information to capture.

I really appreciate the feedback.

Quick update. I have fixed a majority of the issues (some mighty new ones introduced in Tahoe) and hope to have a version for TestFlight this weekend. I appreciate your patience.
